Stratus and Skinning in Flex 4
After the Xmas break, we're all set to go for another year of exciting Flash Platform stuff from Adobe. 2010 will be the year of the release of Flex 4, AIR 2.0 and CS5 and there are quite a few interesting things to look into.
We're going to start this process with two 30 min introductory sessions:
- Introduction in Stratus (Ross Phillips)
Stratus: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/stratus/
- The basics of skinning and styling in Flex 4 (Kai Koenig)
Flex 4: http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4
The meeting will be hosted by Natcoll Design Technology in Wellington. Times: 5:30pm doors open for a 5:45pm presentation start. Please make sure you're on time as the ground floor doors will lock at 6pm :-)
Please register at the eventbrite page if you're attending:

Flash Platform User Group: We started as an Adobe Flex user group. Flex is an opensource development framework from Adobe that allows the creation of so called Rich Internet Applications that run in the Flash Player or within AIR. Now we're the Flash Platform User Group and it's a loose community of people working or being interested in the Flash platform, particularly in the Flex framework but also with other Flash-related technologies. We meet monthly in Wellington, usually on the second Wednesday of each month but YMMV on that. Most of the meetings will feature one or two presentations discussing various topics about Flex or topics that are sort of associated with Flash (Flash Player, hooking Flex into various backends on the server, other RIA technologies, AIR etc.) We have a google group for further announcements and technical discussions: http://groups.google.com/group/nzfxug
