 <p> However in the last 2-4 years\, the Java open source information retrieval library Apache Lucene\, and its ecosystem of applications\, have begun to stake their claim.  The most popular application\, Apache Solr\, a complete RESTful search service\, has gained a large install base among companies like Disney\, AOL and Netflix.</p>
